Setting up ETIAS

TheETIAS is a new compulsory travel authorization for all nationals of visa-exempt countries wishing to enter theSchengen area. Initially planned for an earlier date, the system has been repeatedly postponed by the European Commission.

Travelers must apply online, via the official ETIAS website or a dedicated mobile application. The ETIAS procedure is fast, but some applications may take longer to process. It is therefore advisable to apply at least a few days before departure.

ETIAS does not automatically guarantee entry into Europe. On arrival, the final decision rests with the border authorities.
