Travelling to Portugal with an ETIAS authorization

A travel authorization is required to enter Portugal without a visa. Non-EU nationals will need either an ETIAS or a valid Schengen visa.

Stay or stopover in Portugal with ETIAS

The ETIAS covers both short stays (under 90 days) and transits. If you are simply stopping over in Portugal, this authorization is sufficient. No Schengen visa is required for connecting via Lisbon or Porto.

ETIAS application procedure: quick and easy

The application is made exclusively online. All you have to do is fill in an ETIAS form with your personal data and passport details. Once validated, the ETIAS is electronically linked to the traveler’s passport.

Please note: the request must be made at least 8 days before departure, to anticipate processing times.

ETIAS award for Portugal

The official ETIAS fee is 7 euros, set by the European Union. Payment is by credit card only, at the time of online application.

Is ETIAS compulsory for everyone?

It is only required for travelers from visa-exempt countries such as Canada, the USA, the UK and Australia. If you are a citizen of an EU country, no ETIAS is required.
