ETIAS for Sweden: formalities, prices and procedures
Travelling to Sweden with an ETIAS
As soon as the system comes into force, non-EU nationals will be required to obtain an ETIAS permit to travel to Sweden. This requirement applies to all stays of less than 90 days, whether for tourism, transit or family visits.
Is ETIAS valid for stopovers in Sweden?
Yes, the ETIAS also allows you to stop over in Sweden without a Schengen visa. Once issued, it is linked electronically to the passport, eliminating the need for paper printouts. It authorizes transit through all Schengen countries.
How to apply for an ETIAS
The ETIAS application can only be made online. You need to fill in a form with your personal data and passport details. The passport must be biometric and valid for at least six months after the date of departure. It can take between 24 and 96 hours to obtain the ETIAS. It is advisable to apply at least 8 days before departure.
ETIAS award for Sweden
The price of the ETIAS is 7 euros, according to the rate set by the European Union. Payment is by credit card only, when the form is validated. Under-18s and over-70s are exempt.
