Travelling to Spain with ETIAS: formalities, prices and procedures

Non-Europeans will soon be required to obtain an ETIAS authorization to travel to Spain. Here are the stages, deadlines and fees to be aware of.

ETIAS becomes compulsory for travel in Spain

From the launch date of ETIAS, non-EU nationals will need to obtain an electronic authorization to enter Spain, whether for vacations or transit.

Stay of less than 90 days: ETIAS is sufficient

If you are a citizen of an eligible country, a visa is not required for a stay of less than 90 days in Spain. ETIAS will replace this formality, enabling travel throughout the Schengen zone.

Stopover or transit in Spain: ETIAS accepted

If you have a stopover in Spain, the ETIAS authorization will also cover this type of trip. You won’t need to print out the ETIAS, as it will be electronically linked to your passport for travel within the EU.

How do I apply for ETIAS in Spain?

The ETIAS application is entirely online. Simply fill in the official ETIAS form with your personal details and pay the ETIAS fee by credit card. Most applications are processed within a few minutes, but it is advisable to apply at least 8 days before departure.

ETIAS Spain Award

The cost of ETIAS must be paid directly online. No processing will begin until payment has been validated.
