How to update an ETIAS authorization

Can an ETIAS authorization be modified?

No. Once issued, an ETIAS authorization cannot be modified.
Any major change (passport, identity, security) requires a new application.

When should I renew my ETIAS?

You must renew your ETIAS if any of the following information has changed:

Passport

• Different number (lost, stolen, renewal)
• Passport expiry (ETIAS becomes invalid)

Identity

• Change of surname or first name (marriage, adoption…)
• New nationality

Security

• Recent medical or legal history

• Always keep an up-to-date copy of your ETIAS (digital or printed)
